ISPAC 2022

33rd  International Symposium on Polymer Analysis and Characterization

June 5 - 8, 2022

Milan, Italy

ISPAC 2022 will be a great opportunity to celebrate the Foundation of Polymer Science Centennial. In fact in 1920, Hermann Staudinger postulated for the first time that materials such as natural rubber have very high molecular weights. In a paper entitled "Über Polymerisation," Staudinger described many reactions that form high molecular weight molecules by linking together a large number of small molecules. He also named these reactions "polymerizations," meaning that individual repeating units are joined together by covalent bonds.

Hundred years of Polymer Science have shown how essential is polymer analysis and characterization, in fact many breakthroughs would not have been possible without a precise comprehension of the molecular structure of polymers obtained by new syntheses, a famous example is the case of isotactic polypropylene.

Unfortunately, due to COVID pandemic related restrictions, we had to postpone the meeting until now. We offer ISPAC 2022 with the same emphasis as we originally intended in 2020. This also means that we shall commemorate the 100 years history of polymers science. Despite progress in combatting COVID there is still a slight chance that new restrictions would hamper participation of some delegates. For these we shall consider online participation options in due course.

ISPAC 2022 will also be available on-line, you can register for the online participation >>

The International Symposium on Polymer Analysis and Characterization, ISPAC, is a non-profit scientific organization. The mission of ISPAC is to provide an international forum for the presentation of cutting-edge technologies in the field of polymer analysis and characterization.  The symposium is unique in its emphasis on state-of-the-art methodologies, in its multidisciplinary approach to problems, and in the detailed discussions available among the participants.  Over the years, the symposia have successfully brought together analytical chemists, polymers chemists, polymer physicists, chemical engineers, and material scientists involved in the characterization and analysis of synthetic and natural polymeric materials.  Meetings are held annually, rotating to venues in the USA, Europe, Asia, and Africa.
